On 11 January 2010, Graham and I started memorising one verse a day together, 5 days a week. We would (try to) read aloud the verse at breakfast, read the context by ourselves during the day, and pray about them together again at night.

These verses are taken from the Navigator’s Topical Memory System and quoted from the ESV. Hopefully, we will remember all 60 verses by the end of 12 weeks in March!

Christ the Centre

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come!

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now life in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Obedience to Christ

Romans 12:1
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

John 14:21

Salvation is not by works

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
